Strategic and Functional Program for Fábrica da Cerveja Cultural and Services Building

Municipality of Faro’s commitment to redevelop facilities of former Fábrica da Cerveja (Beer Factory) stems from recognizing the enormous potential enclosed by this space as a catalyst for the cultural, social, and economic municipality dynamics and as an instrument for urban regeneration.

Opium developed a Strategic and Functional Program for Fábrica da Cerveja Cultural and Services Building in collaboration with Gonçalo Louro & Cláudia Santos – Architects, Lda., and Pablo Berástegui. The project aimed to establish Fábrica da Cerveja positioning regarding its mission, vision, objectives, audiences, and privileged partnerships. It also included a Base Program outlining intervention principles and a functional program description. This work was also complemented with information to support discussion about the management model to be implemented and a budget estimate.
