Aveiro European Capital of Culture 2027

Aveiro was one of the cities on the short list of Portuguese applications for European Capital of Culture 2027 – the most significant European programme in the field of culture. Opium supported the conception of Aveiro’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2027, through the development of the Strategic Plan for Culture Aveiro 2030, the preparation of the Bid Book and the presentation to the international jury. This process consisted of actively listening to stakeholders and involving communities in the construction of a collective vision and strategy that places culture at the centre of Aveiro’s sustainable development and strengthens its international profile.
